چکیده

Masking of clouds, cloud shadow, water and snow/ice in optical satellite imagery is an important step automated processing chains. We compare the performance masking provided by Fmask (“Function mask” implemented FORCE), ATCOR (“Atmospheric Correction”) Sen2Cor (“Sentinel-2 on a set 20 Sentinel-2 scenes distributed over globe covering wide variety environments climates. All three methods use rules based physical properties (Top Atmosphere Reflectance, TOA) to separate clear pixels from potential pixels, but they different class-specific thresholds. Comparison of Different Algorithms to Orthorectify WorldView-2 Satellite Imagery

Due to their level of spatial detail (pixel dimensions equal to or less than 1 m), very high-resolution satellite images (VHRSIs) need particular georeferencing and geometric corrections which require careful orthorectification. Although there are several dedicated algorithms, mainly commercial and free software for geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing applications, the qualit...

Narrow band based and broadband derived vegetation indices using Sentinel-2 Imagery to estimate vegetation biomass

Forest’s ecosystem is one of the most important carbon sink of the terrestrial ecosystem. Remote sensing technology provides robust techniques to estimate biomass and solve challenges in forest resource assessment. The present study explored the potential of Sentinel-2 bands to estimate biomass and comparatively analyzed of red-edge band based and broadband derived vegetation indices. Broadband...

A Comparison of Autofocus Algorithms for SAR Imagery

A challenge in SAR system development involves compensation for nonlinear motion errors of the sensor platform. The uncompensated along-track motions can cause a severe loss of geometry accuracy and degrade SAR image quality. Autofocus techniques improve image focus by removing a large part of phase errors present after conventional motion compensation. It refers to the computer-automated error...
